Monmouth Golf Club is breaking new ground this summer by holding a Captains' Charity Day devoted to two charities.
Sue Edwards (Lady Captain) and David Evans (Club Captain) are combing forces to hold a special Charity Day at the club on Saturday 21 June. The two charities, to benefit from the money raised are Macmillan Cancer Support and the Micro & Anophthalmic Childrens Society (MACS).
Macmillan is well known for providing help and assistance for cancer sufferers and MACS, formed in l993 by a group of parents, provides family support for children with a variety of eye conditions that often make them visually impaired.
The Charity Day will include an 18-hole stableford competition with teams of four -ladies, gentlemen or mixed - 3/4 handicap with best two scores to count. Entry fee will be £120 per team of four and includes a two-course buffet meal. Local businesses and organisations are being invited to sponsor individual holes or contributes prizes to the winners, including a raffle.
